Nitrous Oxide Delivery System (N.O.D.S.) - Base Kit (*** Italian Regulator ***)

NOTE:  We have a few Italian-made regulators left over from our NODS product design and testing.  These are very high quality regulators, but only flow about 80% of what the NODS Asian-made regulators do.  They also have fragile gauges that can get bent if not handled carefully.  Everything else is the same in these kits.

In the culinary world, nitrous oxide (N2O) is valued for its role as a propellant and a texturizing agent.  Its use hinges on nitrous oxide’s ability to dissolve in liquids under pressure and expand upon release, providing for a lighter, more delicate mouth-feel (a subtler fizz or texture).

The N.O.D.S. allows you to lightly infuse nitrous oxide gas into beverages (beer, soda, coffee, etc.) using a Cornelius keg typically a 5 gallon soda/homebrew keg).  This is similar to “force carbonation,” but using nitrous oxide, rather than carbon dioxide.  The system can also be used to dispense beverages from the keg, using nitrous oxide.

For best results, only use gas canisters that are from reputable manufacturers that build and fill tanks in Europe or the USA.  Flavored gases, and/or canisters that are filled in Asia are typically lower quality, and can have impurities that will affect the final taste of your creation.

Over the past two years, the skunkworks team at Strange Lifestyle has tested and modified over 30 regulators, engineered and tested hundreds of handle designs, utilized flowmeters and other testing apparatus, and conducted endless hours of user testing.  

The primary regulator is made in Italy, and we have customized it for our application.  The handle assembly (secondary regulator / button assembly) is entirely American-made.
